DirectStorage Compatibility
We’ve made sure the drive is compatible with DirectStorage, Microsoft’s technology that allows data to be sent directly from the SSD to the graphics card (GPU), bypassing the processor (CPU). This allows games to load much faster and puts less strain on the CPU. This translates into higher performance, faster loading game levels and smoother transitions between scenes.*

Advanced data protection
The IRDM PRO GEN 5 drive offers advanced features designed to ensure not only high performance, but also data longevity and security. One of the key parameters is the high TBW (Total Bytes Written) ratio, which determines the maximum amount of data that can be written to the drive over its lifetime. The higher this ratio, the longer the drive can operate without risking performance loss. ECC (Error Correction Code) technology is responsible for detecting and correcting data errors, minimising the risk of data corruption. The WEAR LEVELING function balances the wear of memory blocks, extending the life of the drive. With BAD BLOCK MANAGEMENT, the drive automatically manages bad sectors, taking them out of service and ensuring continuous operation without affecting data. And TRIM technology optimises SSD operation by removing unnecessary data from memory cells, in effect speeding up writes and extending media life.
Performance under control
We have used a graphene coating to dissipate heat from the drive. This material is 20 times more efficient than aluminium. The unique atomic structure of graphene makes it ideal for cooling systems, helping to keep the drive at the right temperature during intensive use. Nevertheless, to maximise SSD performance, additional cooling is recommended, for example in the form of a passive heatsink, integrated into the motherboard or an active heatsink.
